FIRST LECTURE WEDNESDAY APRIL 23,
2008 AT 6:30 P.M. AT PEAK PERFORMANCE MULTISPORT
I’ve designed this clinic for more
seasoned athletes with a good fitness base, we will focus on
honing skills and increasing speed within each discipline,
and focus on racing skills, including transitions. This
clinic is designed for women who already have good base
fitness but would like to increase performance in a sprint
triathlon or try to do an Olympic distance triathlon in the
later season, like the Urban Epic Tri-Maine race at the end
of July or the Lobsterman Race mid September.
My experience includes pending USAT
coaching certification, 2 Ironman finishes, 4 seasons of
triathlon racing and a background in road, mountain and
X-Terra racing.
This course will offer 3 lectures,
4-5 group training sessions and 3 months of individual
training schedules.
The lectures will be: ‘Tri 101’ a
refresher for most of you but a good one – including
nutrition for training. ‘Light bike maintenance and safety’
– simple things you should know to be independent on a ride.
‘Race 101’ – again a refresher – including race day
nutrition and some of the psychological issues surrounding
racing.
The group training will be: Pool
swim assessment with facilitators including Larissa Bodde
Division 1 swimmer and now master swim coach. Open water
swim at Crystal Lake – water entry, group swimming tactics,
sighting, exiting. Open water swim on the race course with a
like tide – getting to T-1 Bike/run training at the course –
practicing T-2 – and some advanced bike handling skills. One
bonus training session as group desires. Discounts on bike
fit sessions with Rob Smith.
Space is limited to 20 women
$200.00 per person
