Athletes & Friends Central – Registration

Registration for Tri for a CURE will open on Saturday, February 6th at 11:59pm. SET YOUR ALARMS…. we sold out in 25 minutes last year!

We will accept on-line registrations only! We are completely paperless with registration.

NEW FOR 2010:

All athletes will be required to raise a minimum of $250 to support Maine Cancer Foundation’s goal of funding research and finding hope.

Individual Triathlete $85.00 (includes one day race insurance fee)
Relay Member $60.00 each person on team (includes one day race insurance fee)

Other registration tips:

SWIM WAVES: You will be asked to sign up for a swim wave, you will pick from 3 choices:

1. Survivor – this wave is only for those ladies participating who have had a cancer diagnosis. This is the first swim wave to go and the crowd loves to cheer on the survivor wave. Survivors are eligible to be ranked in the survivor category or age group category. Survivor will take precedence over age group categories.
   
   
2. Age Group – this wave is divided into age brackets so people of similar age start together. Age groups take into account the age you are as of December 31, 2010. Most participants should choose this wave.
   
   
3. Novice Wave – The novice wave is for athletes who feel they need extra time and support on the swim portion of the race. This group also allows people of different ages to participate together. Example: a mother and daughter want to race together.

RELAY TEAMS: If you are planning on registering for a RELAY (team with two or three people) only ONE person should sign up the night of registration as the team captain. Starting the next day the rest of the team will be able to sign up using the online registration form.

DUATHLON: The duathlon is for women who don’t want to swim. This will be a 1.5 mile run, 15 mile bike and 3 mile run. The duathlon is not offered as a relay.

USAT MEMBERSHIP: All athletes are required to pay for registration that includes race day insurance of $10.00. If you are a USAT member, we will be happy to transfer the $10 race insurance that you have already paid to USAT to your fundraising page or reimburse you at packet pick-up.
